Do you know how to clean the aluminum windows without damaging them?

Aluminum is a metal that requires minimal maintenance and keeps its qualities unchanged over time. However, our aluminum doors and windows are constantly exposed to dust: both because they come in contact with heat sources such as heaters, which move hot air upwards, both because they are in communication with the outside environment.

Clean the aluminum fixtures: what to have on hand

  • A basin with clean water
  • Solid detergent or neutral liquid
  • 2 Soft cloths
  • Sponge or siphon

We advise not to use acid detergents that could stain the metal or iron wipes , which can be effective to remove any stains or external bodies, but could scratch the aluminum To achieve a good result with minimal effort, we recommend following these simple steps

Step 1
Choose a soft cloth that does not lose lint Dampen the cloth with the lint, clean basin water and pass it directly onto the fixtures. This will remove surface dirt, leaving no trace and scratching the metal: the next step will be easier and faster

Step 2
Add a few drops of neutral liquid detergent to the basin and shake slightly to create a uniform solution Dampen the sponge and pass it on the fixtures, taking care to observe the presence of excess product, which will be removed. Alternatively, you can use it as a cleanser for Marseille soap flakes or sodium bicarbonate, in both cases using lukewarm water.

Step 3
Damp cloth on the fixtures, with a movement from top to bottom. This system prevents dirty or soapy water from ending up in freshly cleaned areas.

Step 4
Take the second soft cloth, the dry one, and dry it carefully to avoid forming the fins.

And if stains remain?
To prevent the formation of stains, it is advisable to clean the fixtures twice a year; but if the area where we live is coastal or particularly exposed to smog, more frequent cleaning will be required. This simple remedy should prevent the formation of stains. However, if all our attention is to be formed, stains may be necessary to remove them using a detergent to ammonia mixed with water. After wearing latex gloves, moisten a sponge and apply the cleanser on the stain by gentle and circular movements Then clean with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth If the stain is caused by solvents or painting, it is advisable to clean the fixtures with a sponge moistened in water and medicinal alcohol In the case of particularly strong stains it may be useful to use beeswax, which allows us to act on the stain without risk of scratching the aluminum.
